About Banksy

The graffiti artist Banksy, a 30 year-old man from Bristol, has become internationally famous with his underground works of art.

Banksy has managed to tag walls in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans and the Palestinian segregation wall in the West Bank, among others, and has remained anonymous through his "career" to avoid prosecution.

At the beginning of 2010, his movie : Exit Through the Gift Shop was showed at the Sundance festival. The plot follows an eccentric French fan attempting to find and befriend Banksy.
According to Sundance festival director John Cooper, "Exit Through the Gift Shop is one of those films that comes along once in a great while, a warped hybrid of reality and self -induced fiction while at the same time a totally entertaining experience. The story is so bizarre I began to question if it could even be real... but in the end I didn't care. I feel bad I won't be able to shake the filmmaker’s hand and tell him how much I love this film. I think I will shake everyone's hand that day and hope I hit on Banksy somewhere. I love his work in all forms.”

creative ad #2
One of the lastest flashmobs. From Greepeace Switzerland, on 25th May 2010.
A shocking execution to renew an already dated technique
Translation for the final board: “Do you know in which zone you’re living?” (according to the 3 zone around nuclear plants in Switzerland)
The art of translation
What happens when you translate idioms litteraly?
You need to speak both langages to get the message.
This newspeak is a third language that nobody understand.
In such a world, a lover would cut a pipe. A morron would be proud like a louse and in winter you would shout out "what a duck's cold".
At last, you would spend your time turning around the jar.

The hero of the day
Screamin' Jay Hawkins (1929 - 2000)
Famed for his powerful and almost operatic vocal performances.
A former middleweight boxing champion of Alaska.
He transformed a refined ballad in a savage scream for lust by getting drunk during the recording session.
The performance ended with Hawkins blackout. He could'nt remember the session so had to relearn the song from the recorded version.
And thus, invented rock'n roll
